Michael J. Peitz and Pat Kroeger, two staff members at the Cincinnati-based national Educational Theatre Association (EdTA), have been inducted into the Ohio Educational Theatre Association (Ohio EdTA) Hall of Fame. The ceremony took place on March 20 at the Ohio EdTA state conference.
Peitz, a resident of Wyoming, has been with the EdTA Home Office since 1997, first as assistant executive director, then assuming his current post as executive director in 1999. Hs involvement with EdTA dates back to his high school years as a member of its student honorary division, the International Thespian Society (ITS). During a 25-year career teaching high school speech, theatre, and English in his home state of Iowa, he returned to his ITS roots as a Thespian troupe director. He later became president of the EdTA Board of Directors prior to joining the Home Office staff in Cincinnati.Kroeger, a Mt. Healthy resident, joined the EdTA Home Office staff in 1984, managing inventory and shipping for the organization. She is well-known to EdTA members as the friendly voice on the other end of the phone ensuring the quick processing and shipment of their orders. Ms. Kroeger is also the resident expert on mailing and shipping procedures, educating and training Home Office staff on these topics and acting as the primary point of contact between EdTA and representatives with mail and shipping outlets.
Peitz says, “The Ohio EdTA provides strong leadership for the many hardworking theatre educators all over the state. It means a great deal to be recognized by a group of professionals so deserving of recognition themselves.”
Ohio EdTA Chapter Director Scott Wilson said, “Michael Peitz’…continued guidance has helped our state flourish. Pat Kroeger has been an immense help to all of the troupes in our state for many, many years. She is one of those people who does her job without fanfare or adulation.”
